The 20-year-old had started his career with Real Madrid before joining city rivals Atletico in 2007. He was also part of the Spanish under 19 side that won the European championship. The new signing was delighted to be joining Liverpool. "I think it's one of the biggest in Europe. Any footballer would want to come and play here," he said on the club's website. "When they tell you Liverpool want to sign you, I think like any player, you are going to be absolutely amazed and you don't think of anything else than going straight there," added Manquillo.Liverpool have been busy in the transfer market, having completed deals for Southampton trio Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren, as well as Emre Can, Lazar Markovic and Divock Origi. Pepe Signs for Bayern LIVERPOOL goalkeeper Pepe Reina has agreed a deal to join Bayern Munich. The Spain international, who spent last season on loan at Napoli, will arrive at the German champions as back-up for number-one keeper Manuel Neuer if he passes a medical. A statement on the Bayern website confirmed terms have been agreed with both Reina and Liverpool. Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “The player will come to Munich in the next few days for a medical examination and to sign his contract “He was eager to come to Bayern Munich. He wanted to embark on this adventure even though he knows that, in Manuel Neuer, he has a keeper in front of him who, if nothing changes, will always remain the number one.” Liverpool fans will have mixed feelings about this move. Pepe was a great goalkeeper and certainly one of the best on his day. He is the joint clean sheet holder in the premiership which is no mean feat considering the quality goalkeeper's in this country. Things changed when he said that he was happy to move on a year or so ago and signed a loan deal with Napoli. Although Liverpool fans will be sad to see him finally go on a permanent basis the wages he was on were very high even though the fee was not big Liverpool will be happy they have him off the wage bill. "Where do I rank it? It's probably the worst three months of my life. There is nothing else to say really is there," Gerrard told reporters in New Jersey. Gerrard has had a torrid three months with the now infamous slip against Chelsea and poor showing with England although the whole team were to blame Gerrard said "you get a support network around you of the people you are close to. That's been the case since day one, people who have watched me since before I made my debut. They are always there for me. They always will be," Gerrard was the driving force behind Liverpool last season and the player who has been at Liverpool all his life felt the pain more than anyone after missing out on the title. That's why it was cruel. I haven't made a mistake, I haven't lost my man at a set-piece. I haven't missed a penalty. I haven't made a bad pass," Gerrard said. "Every single person on the planet slips at some point in their life, whether it's on the stairs, on the floor or whatever. For me, it happened on the pitch at a really bad moment. "But over the course of 38 games a lot happens for you and against you and that determines if you win the league or not. But that moment happened at a really crucial time and I have to face that. And I will." After the disappointment with Liverpool Gerrard was hoping to put it all behind him and have a great world cup. Unfortunately this did not happen with England's poor showing. He said "Unfortunately, I have had that tough time at club level at the end of the season, then I have gone into a World Cup hoping that it was going to go really well to help me get over it. But it backfired," he added. As a lifelong Liverpool fan I share his pain but to me and as a player who I grew up with watching he will always be a part of Liverpool history with the way he has played for the this club at times driving the club to win games almost by himself. Gerrard is one of the greatest players every to have worn the iconic shirt and will be one of the greatest players of his generation. I will end this post with the words of Zidane ‘There was a point when Gerrard was the best midfield player in the world. It is unusual to get complete midfield players who can do everything, but that is what he was. We shared some good times together. We created history with our goals and became the most successful Liverpool partnership in one season,” several newspapers quoted him as saying.“But in terms of next season for the goals, I’ll step up myself and everyone has to. It’s everyone’s job to do that, the new boys who have come in as well as the players who have been there all season.“We will move forward as a team.” Sturridge has been an excellent signing for Liverpool. He scored an incredible 21 goals last season and at the age of 24 he can only get better. Today we are going to have a look at Lazar Markovic. Lazar is a player who has great potential, he is not the biggest and strongest player but he still has time to develop. Lazar is extremely quick, he has the ability to run past players with ease. He has a good first touch an awareness of what is around him and bags of skill on and off the ball. I have watched him play a few times and every time I see him he looks like he has improved. He started his career at Partizan in 2006 as a 12 year old, In may 2011 he was promoted to the senior side. He moved to Benfica in June 2013, It was Chelsea (who at the time part owned the player) who advised him to go to Benfica. On 15th July Liverpool paid a reported £20 million for the player. This came to no surprise to me having watched Markovic I sensed he would be moving on to a bigger club sooner or later. As you can see from the video he is a great player and will fit in to the system we play with ease. He is not just a player who plays in one position he can play anywhere across the front line. Even though he is a very attack minded player Lazar has no issues with doing his defensive duties. He is a team player and this is very important when playing in a Brendan Rodgers team. Lazar Markovic will be a great player for Liverpool for many years to come. He has the ability to get even better. He has all the attributes to develop in to a world class player , he is young and a bit raw at times but he is in good hand with Rodgers guiding him. I expect a lot of Lazar maybe not just this coming season but for the next 5 years I think he will take the premier league by storm. He moved from Braga to Liverpool in 2012 for a deal reportedly worth £830,000. He has great ability on the ball. He is quicker than most people think. He has the fantastic close ball control and has an outstanding ability to glide past players. He also has great long and short range passing. He has scored some wonderful goals for the academy and has a great shot on him. A lot was made about his loan move but I just think the lower leagues don't suit him. He is still quite young and has not grown in to his frame yet. Maybe it came a season or so early for him but there is no question he has all the attributes a manager like Brendan Rodgers looks for. He is a player who has been watched by many of the worlds top clubs while playing for the academy and I am not at all surprised. I think he has everything needed to play for Liverpool in the premier league. Some of the assists he has are nothing short of remarkable as you will have seen in the video above. Finally just like young Wilson he has a football brain which is extremely important. He is always looking around the pitch. He always knows what's around him and this will stand him well in the future. He also has bags of skill and he knows when to use it too. He is a bundle of tricks which will really get the crowd going. Teixeira is a great young player and I have no problem in saying that he is a future start of Liverpool as long as he keeps progressing and learning from those around him. He has speed, skill like no other player of his tender years but most of all he has a football brain. He not only creates goals but he scores too. Having been the youngest player to represent Wales there is no surprise he has been chosen to be the one to watch. Many of Liverpool's academy players have bags of potential and a few more posts will follow but for me none are going to be better than young Wilson. Here is a little more about the young player. Harry was born in Wrexham on 22nd March 1997. He signed for Liverpool for the under 9's. At the age of 15 he was a full time member of the Liverpool academy. At the beginning of last season he was promoted to the under 18 side. Having watched a lot of the Academy games last season he really stood out. He is very fast which given his small frame is quite deceptive at first glance. One of things I always look for in a young player is if they have a good first touch as the rest of their game can be built around it. Harry blew me away he has an excellent first touch even when under pressure he is calm and always looks a step ahead of opposing players. Being a left winger is not an easy task as there are defensive duties to think about but he is the type of player who will chase back when needed. All in all Liverpool have one fantastic prospect on their hands. Many things stand out about Harry but the thing that stands out for me is he loves to run at players and this is a great quality. He is not fazed and looks to take things in his stride. Harry is still very young and I am sure Liverpool will protect him and keep him in the academy a little while longer but I am sure he will be playing for the first team sooner or later or may possibly go out on loan in a year or so. Remember the name the future star of Liverpool Harry Wilson. Enjoy the video. <a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/12629927/?claim=uhsp62va875">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a> |
